After a life change in 2003 my career path changed from 15 years in Admin, to social care and work with the elderly. I studied for a degree in 2004 and also have taken NVQ L2, L3 and L4 and recently L5 in Leadership and Management in social care and I'm now a registered manager of a 23 bedded residential home. I also love to train, as I feel a well-trained employee is a good, faithful and more sincere employee. So I also registered with the CIEH as a professional trainer in all care home training after taking my Food Safety L2, L3 L4 and my professional trainers’ certificate. I have now been in the care sector for 14 years and I work closely with the CQC Environmental Health and other regulators of social care. I’m available 24 hours a day for residents, families and staff alike. We are a great team here and we have a great reputation within the sector.
After meeting Sam in 2014 and combining our two lovely families, I took the decision to join her in the company later that year. My background is very diverse working across many sectors including public and private. I have taken on the role of Operational Manager at Nightingales, which covers a broad spectrum from finances, staff management and my favourite part of the job, interacting with the residents and their families. I am currently undertaking a Level 3 Diploma in Management to underpin my previous management experience.
We have an amazing team of staff and are very proud of the service and care we provide to the Residents and their families.
I joined Nightingales residential home in 2006 as a care assistant and in 2008 I was promoted to a senior carer. In 2010 I then became the activities co-ordinator and I enjoyed entertaining the residents with quizzes, games and organising musical events.
After helping out in the office for a while, I was offered my current position of management support. This involves, helping with the day to day running of Nightingales, I am always available for residents and staff and I still take a care role when needed. I also enjoy meeting families when they come to look around the home and I go out to do the assessments before a resident comes to live at Nightingales.
I began my journey with Nightingales in 2013 as part time administrative support to both the Domiciliary business and the Residential Home. My role has changed and grown over the years and I am very privileged to work in such beautiful surroundings. I work for everyone in the company and love my diverse role which changes daily!
